When the censorship started massively cracking down - people were jumping ship and quick. Immediately I saw problems that will come from the frenzy, and have been thinking about solutions to the times we find ourselves in, specific to how we effectively communicate with each other.
Rather than a solid plan, people were going here and there based on the referrals of their friends. Suddenly, not only were we being torn apart from the platforms, but it was utter chaos.
How will we find each other in a year? Will each of us now have to check all these platforms to be able to stay in touch?
It's the citizens trying to use all of these to let their voices be heard to combat the Major Media Outlets.
If I just spent 5 minutes on each one of these - that's TWO HOURS and FIVE MINUTES just checking my messages EACH DAY! That doesn't include me contributing my own content in any way.
This post doesn't even address the inefficiencies in the mass amount of time and energy that is not being harvested wisely as people are
sharing videos on platforms that are being censored,
repeatedly sharing the same things on multiple platforms,
not citing the source of the information shared, and
requiring everyone to watch everything in order to stay up to date-
rather than cataloging the data and delegating strategies
for factual and timely "real news" updates.
This is insanity, and it cannot continue.
We need a better plan. We need a more strategic plan.
Not only do we not need to be using platforms that are using us (to communicate),
but we need to simplify this entire process.
We need to LIVE our lives; live our individual callings -
not be addicted to talking about everything,
getting feedback from everyone, and
scrolling through watching everyone else live the moments of their lives.
In addition, I have watched as various organizations, leaders, and newcomers are putting up their individual sites and communities (private platforms) - myself included.
We have TOO MANY CHOICES that are similar in mission and purpose.
This will NOT serve us well.
This will NOT make us stronger.
This will NOT unify us.
This will keep us divided.
We must make a plan to work together and get organized.
Some ideas:
* Get on the same platform (but ensure it's private and safe)
* Create something to help synchronize posting in one place and going to the other platforms, and checking one place for importing all messages from all platforms
* Create something that is like a modern day White Pages that holds our addresses to our public media accounts for our friends & family to reference
* What ideas have you been thinking to solve this?
Who can volunteer (a few hours of their time) to help me
at least research these resources (and more) and
help put together the data so we can
truly compare the functions of each and then
make a collective decision on which one will serve the majority of us best?
I have come to terms with the fact that we can't go back to the 80's where people could make simple phone calls, mail letters, and type up agendas a half year at a time for you to post on the fridge.
But - we can do better than this. We must do better than this.
